Wilderness Adventure Area Thoughts
"Oregon's Wilder Side" - my thoughts on this beautiful section of northeastern Oregon. There is nearly any kind of adventure in the Hells Canyon Recreation Area and Cornucopia in the Eagle Cap Wilderness of Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. For example, visitors find snowmobiling and skiing in winter; fishing, hiking, camping and trail rides in summer; wildlife and scenic photography all year. And we’re so relaxed, it's a perfect place to unwind. Come on over; the door’s always open.

Waking To A Crisp Winter Morning
Today is very crisp outside. It feels like a perfect time to lounge next to a fire at the lodge. Alas, today is the day Hells Canyon Chamber of Commerce picked to decorate the trees we cut last week for display all up and down Main Street in Halfway. The surrounding mountains are stunning in their cloaks of glistening snow. Forest trees stand like sentinels along the ridge lines.
